Thirteen-year-old Jacob Scott Lacey, from Garden Grove, CA

wrote the following poem, dedicated to his brother,

LCPL Jason R. Lacey

1st Marine Division

United States Marine Corp

Operation Iraqi Freedom

I was truly impressed with such a touching poem and

received permission from Jacob to share his poem.

To ALL of our troops, may I just say that our prayers are with you day and night.

We pray this war will soon be over and our men and women will return home safely.

May God bless you all.

I'll tell you a story about my friend,
A friend that was there through every day.
A friend that could never be replaced,
Never, there is no possible way.

His name is Jason, and he is my sibling,
A friend to the end, even from afar.
I miss him very much, and he misses me,
He's in the Marines, and he's gone to war.

He's in Iraq, and has faced a few men
I worry about him, and say prayers each day.
When my parents get letters they make such a fuss,
And when they read bad news, we pray, pray, pray.

Sometimes I want to go over there
And wrap my arms 'round him tight,
And squeeze, squeeze, squeeze as tight as I can,
And cry at my eye's first sight.

But that can't happen, for you see,
He is there, and I am here,
No contact to my beloved brother ...
No contact to my loved one dear.

So you see, I'm in much pain,
For I can't make or break the space,
Between me and my beloved brother,
To meet Corporal Lacey, "Face to Face".
