A mother's love
asks no return,
expects
no reward ...
a mother's love
asks only to give
I remember her courage, her quiet reserve,
her compassion for others in need.
She knew in her heart the God of Love
whom she trusted, and truly believed.
A teacher, a nurse, a companion, a guide...
She taught me to laugh and to pray.
She taught me to live, taught me to love,
then released me to go my own way.
But none can match the love and warmth
of the one I hold so dear.
The one that held me in her arms
And brushed away my tear.
Anna Jarvis, the founder of Mothers Day,
was born in Taylor County, West Virginia, on May 1, 1864.
The Mother's Day Shrine Church is located in the town that
I live in, which is Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia.
Below is a view of the inside of the Mother's Day Church
where my daughter Kim was married.
I wish each and every "mom" out there
a very happy Mother's Day!
